Elmwood Arts is a home-based studio featuring unique, original works in several media. These include acrylic paint and alcohol ink designs on paper and craft plastic, paper quilling, free standing and on paper background, and pen and ink designs. 

 

Recent products include 3 D Alcohol Ink designs, free form resin sculptures (vases, bowls, geode sculptures and sun catchers), and wet felted and nuno felted projects.  

 

Existing pieces are available for sale, and requests for specific color combinations/design types will be considered.

My initial challenge was, could I possibly, using these media, totally new to me, make something that beautiful (the work of other artists)?  Acrylic paint, alcohol ink, resin?  I knew tempera, water color, oil, clay, paper.  I knew data.  Numbers added up/programs worked, GOOD!!.  No/not, BAD!!

Moving from the planned (correct) to free form (who knows what will happen?) has been relaxing and fulfilling.  Using new media in non-representational, free form projects, capturing color, light, design, and texture is meant to produce enjoyment for the viewer.

​

Learning that some results are pleasing and others not, but still OK, has been freeing.  Art work is a new world with the media the new language.

I am learning, hoping others will enjoy the results.
